We are in full potty training mode this week after a whole year of chipping away at the monster. Honestly, I can't believe it has taken this long! We have made some progress over the past year, but not nearly as much as one would hope, given the time that has passed and H's relative age (nearly three and a half). I think boys just don't care that much, and given that H is a classic spirited child, this process was never going to be an easy one. The three day boot camp method never worked for us, and it has been a slow slow march to the potty. I spent this morning running around after H, emptying the small potty every 10-15 minutes, and cleaning up floors when he forgot or missed the potty entirely. This wouldn't be as big of a deal except that I have to go up a flight of stairs every time I have to empty/clean a small potty, so it was a lot of stair climbing for this pregnant momma. Oh, and M is teething like crazy right now, so is crying over every little thing, refusing to eat, and sleeping poorly. (And has a rather unhealthy fascination with the small potties around the house so we have to keep him and H separated for the moment, a challenge with our house layout). Did I mention that the humidity is about 80% right now? At least it is in the upper 70s and not in the high 90s. I'm hoping it will rain and break some of the mugginess soon. So a long morning after a long day yesterday. H is also in the process of giving up his nap, so we are transitioning to quiet time in the afternoon instead, but I don't think he quite gets the concept yet. le sigh.
My nephew has his 6th birthday on Saturday, and I almost always end up sending his card late because the end of the month catches me unawares, but this year, I was determined to get it out on time! I made this card last night for him, and I love it! I CASEd it from splitcoaststamper Eileen LeFevre. Just changed the sentiment to Happy Birthday from Happy Father's Day. Did I mention that I love this stamp? If I were to get only one stamp from the Summer Mini catalog, I think it would be this one. And at $9.95, you can't beat the price!
